Acoustic: 6th string (E) doesn't play properly

So I just discovered that my 3-week old acoustic guitar has a problem with the 6th string (the high E not the low frequency E).

When I play notes from the 3rd fret onwards, the pitch is ok. But when I play the 1st or 2nd fret, the pitch is the same as it would be on the 3rd fret. What would be the problem here? Is the action too low or something? How would I get it fixed?

Thanks in advance :)

is the string already touching the 1st and 2nd fret without u pressing the string? if it is, then the action is too low, thus it makes no difference as u fretting or not fretting.

im not an expert on acoustics, the only problem i can think of is worn out nut. but it's a relatively new guitar. hmm

Bring it to the shop and have them check it out. Might be a problem with either the frets or the nut, or even the saddle. Like theunknown has said, look along the neck sideways and check if the string is already pressing on the first and second fret.
