Abt bringing foreign acts to Singapore

I have a question that i hope isn't too stupid, but how do you create enough demand for a band or a musician for them to drop by? I mean, how do organizers decide who to bring down? Do fans have to scream out their declarations of love at the Speakers' Corner?

Usually organisers/promoters use fans shout outs as a gauge only if they are unsure.

Otherwise, there is a couple of reasons they bring in a certain band.

One of it being, the band is going to Australia to play.......it is cheaper to catch them this way.

Buy their records.

Makes a lot of sense. Good sales figures from SEA would definitely make them aware of fans here. Sadly so few people buy records these days. Even I am guilty, the only CD I've bought in the last few years for myself was AC/DC's Black Ice.

ohh, so more sales in certain artist, =will attract attention

but when slayer megadeth heaven and hell dream theater and helloween came

i dont think theyre doing much sales in singapore . or are they?

same here bro. the last cd I bought was Bleeding Through's Declaration. hard to find cheap metal cd's for sale

buying their records is obviously a good way of getting those acts down. but there are bands that are coming over to singapore who are...not that mainstream, and i was wondering if it's because they're really popular here, or if their asking price is cheaper. Or something like that. On the other hand, i don't think it's really useful to keep bothering the band itself to "pls come to ________!!!", is it not?
