a few questions from a begginner

1.)is it true that any amp we shldnt use the max volume setting or max treble,bass or mid for long especially those "tube amps"... i noe nothing much about amps so someone pls explain thx

2.)is cleaning the fret board regularly nessecary.will it affect anything on the guitar?

3.)what kind of strings is recommended if i wana use a tuning like open c/

4.)fret care...how to diy? any recommended links or any advice

yup...thats all...and pls dun argue here it realli is very childish and annoying.the last time i posted something on the keyboards section of this forum only 4 outta about 20+ comments were actually helpful,the rest were arguments.but so far the guitar section has proven to be very helpful so hope people pls only comment here to help n not argue like 3 yr olds.

1) A good quality amplifier should be able to tolerate all of its controls at maximum, otherwise it's a shitty design. However, having controls that push tubes such as preamp gain and having, say, a master volume control on full (which pushes power tubes) can shorten tube life I believe.

2) I always clean my strings and fretboard with a dry cloth after every play, though I've cleaned some friends' guitars which have clearly never had any maintenance or care and they've looked virtually brand new after.

3) It should not matter what strings you use for open C tunings. Down to personal preference - lighter strings (9s for example) may give a brighter zingier sound that you might like when letting open strings ring. Experiment.
