A few covers done by my band

Vox sounds average. Guitar tone is a little weak. Overall band co-ordination ain't bad but could be built on.

Hope you don't take the comments too harsh :)

Much room for improvement
Singing from the throat will only get you so far.
Try writing originals and getting them recorded properly in time to come.

Thanks for the comments. I did not sing them , and only played the bass but I'll forward the comments to my vocalist.

the lead guitarist ended on the wrong note at the end of the solo of hell song.
somehow i feel that the vocals are 'forced' out?

Hey Tobias,

some honest takes:

The starting chord for Pieces' bridge/chorus(whatever u call it in this song) is wrong, u might wanna listen to the song again.

Vocals were very avg, to be frank. But I can't sing punk for nuts, so maybe I don't know any better. Just didn't sound too pleasing to my ears, sorry. It's not easy to find a good vocalist anyway yea.

Bass...couldn't really hear the bass guit v well, maybe it's just my speakers, but I felt the bass wasn't there to anchor the rest of the band. The solo duet w the lead guitar at the end of hellsong was rather messy.

Lead guit...the solo-playing was rather lifeless...sounded to me that the main pt was to hit the intended notes. Could take it one notch up by articulating the notes better, using vibrato/slides/bends. Some v off notes in some places.

Have fun jamming together n learning, thanks for sharing ur music. =)

Yeah. Frankly, I have no idea how I played as I find it impossible to hear myself on my speakers. The engineer that we recorded with thought that this was enough, however , as many have told me, the bass level isn't high enough.

maybe it's just my speakers, but I felt the bass wasn't there to anchor the rest of the band.

It's not just your speakers, but speakers everywhere

The solo duet w the lead guitar at the end of hellsong was rather messy

Was there a solo duet? I'll go listen to it once again. I think I was playing a variation of the original bassline.

Thanks for your bold views though, it really helped in giving us various pointers to improve on . I can't comment on the guitar playing but I'll forward your kind opinions to my guitarist.

@extremers

dude, where you get these songs recorded from?

Soundbites Studio at Alpha Industrial Building, next to IMM.

decent

its okay. not that bad, but i think guitars were abit off here and there, if im not wrong. sounds just abit wrong.

Mmh, Tobias.

Uh, the backup vocals can try harder to stay in tune for Pieces though there's only like one phrase I think? I can't tell whether he's singing harmony or melody cos it doesn't sound like any of the two.

Mmh maybe the vox can try to sound less like Billie Joe eh. Unless it was intentional.

Bass was quite clear I thought.. I can hear it quite well. Not bad.

Overall rather tight.. nice work.

im listening to ur song pieces using monitors and it just sounds weird . the guitar in the beginning for example feels like the sound going straight into my ears into my brain causing massive fatigue and just makes me feel like turning it off . Nothing to do with ur band skill though just the mixing .

punk

hi

This is my comment i think try some other catchy songs.. try Misfits songs like "where eagles dare", "horror buisness". ABout your band .. well i know u guys do like Punk rock .. i was a Punkster myself when i was younger.Eventho Punk Rock sounded like "trash" music but u do need skills in it tho. Btw abt the recording the guitar is a little bit soft..PUNK ROCK is about "CRUNCHINESS" of the guitar also :)
