A band with two keyboardist

Haha piano_ex....the band I refer to is Stream of Praise. Ummm...like Hillsong in Chinese praise and worship, if you don't know them.

I went to St james powder station last month at Bellini room,

the jazz band consists of a wind (brass) section, rhythm section and the piano/keyboardist;
no guitarist. during a solo break, we heard a guitar lead and wondered from why ?

it's from the Yamaha Motif ES7 played by the keyboardist!?
haha, no guitar still okay; can use synth to emulate.

go St james powder station Bellini room see for yourself.

;)

This post doesnt mean a thing w/o pix of the bikini clad babes WITHOUT guitarson them ... ;)

can do the Robert Palmer Addicted to Love models strapped with guitars but only wayang ...

haha i like synths too, planning to get a korg rr3. however i find that guitar leads played on keyboards sound really cheesy......for some reason. its like it sounds like a guitar.....but you know its not one if you play guitar. hahhaha.

ok, what happened that night, we were in for the jazz music and talking chatting

the room was not so crowded as it's a weekday. when the solo break came, we thought it
was a guitar but did doubt so because it didn't sound as great. a synth guitar patch can emulate the sound but nothing beats the real thing, applies to bass, drums and brass.

for this situation the brass section and the rhythm section had covered up for it.

one of the synths could be programmed with a lead guitar/electric guitar "timbre" and viola~:D

of course it can't beat the real thing, but then again as the saying goes: no fish, prawn also good :p

Actually i've thought of this idea when i was thinking of forming my band in the past. Its cool cause u can have lots of effects and its so much more versatile..U can play almost any genre..new age, funk, neo classic, techno, anything...

But the main problem i realised was how it would look on the stage...

Guitarists are more mobile..and can interact with the crowd..unlike us keyboardists..lol.. Imagine a whole concert with 2 keyboardists shaking their bodies non stop in that same location... Think about it..lol..it looks quite funny actually..

dun mind me saying, alot of chinese pop music DO NOT have guitars in it. I say... alot.
Just bassists, drums and piano. Sometimes string music, tats where a second keyboardist comes in.

True and agreed..But i dont think u need a second keyboardist for that...u just need a second KEYBOARD..haha or a synth above the piano..
