6point vs 2point

Really? is there a difference?,. some people chose 2point trem rather that 6screw trem(standard),. a standard fender strat will be mostly seen wil a 6screw trem and there are other guitars which have 2stud trem, bridges like wilkinsons,. yeah same as a floyd mount but in a form of a standard trem,.. to cut to the chase.. i need someone to tell me where i could find these 2point bridges in singapore without buying online,.. hehe.. seems hard to find these,..

if the 'standard' you referred to here are the Mexican models, then yes, they sport the 6-screw version. the American Standard bridge pivots on 2 screws. what's the fuss? some players prefer the 2 version as these are 'smoother' in use. it's all too subjective, the 6 version isn't as resistant as it's touted to be.

you can check out wilkinson stuff @ Standardvalue. i bought Wilkinson tuners there, they might have what you are looking for.

he he... but we must remember PRS proved to us all that its 6-screw version is as efficient as it gets.

you made me have second thoughts there, well actually i wanna try the 2pivot but it
seems hard to find and standardvalue has stock on wilkinson 6 screw seems pretty decent,.
i dont need to re route my cavity coz i already have the 6screw,. darn! i hate regrets
and i hate second thoughts,.

btw sub you can make a 6screw a floating trem right? in the pic you gave its a carved top right?
so its trem kinda floats right?,.

6 points can be setup to float and 2 points can be set to dive only. It's a matter of how you want to set it up. IMO, 6 points are harder to work with. Things like beveling the screw holes on the bridge plate, adjusting the 6 screw heights, etc. 2 points are easier and can be easily adjusted to stay in tune. Both can stay in tune equally well if setup properly.

amen to that. of all the guitars ive had, the prs had the same stability as my gotoh floyd. only reason y id pick the floyd is the routing which enables me to pull up. the PRS really has something good going, and ive heard even better stuff abt the early Mann tremolos.

really you can make a 6 float? recessed bridge is that it?... well actually your right about 6screw height adjustment, i havent seen forums talking about right height for a 6screw, or maybe its to your taste to adjust each individual screw height,..

PRS has proven much that 6screw trem can be awesome trem too.. coz most cheap guitars especially strat like guitar have cheap 6screw equip in them,. its all in the hardware if that so..

This Partscaster was built using a non-recessed trem rout with a 6 point Wilkinson bridge and is later set up for a floating bridge. Yoy may want to watch all 36 videos in this series.

6 points are harder to work with, but imho, they give me more tuning stability.
I don't use the trem much, so for me, it's tuning stability first then cosmetics. My vote to the 6 point, if you're like me and don't often use the trem.

went to standard value, service is hands down,. as always.. thanks to sv!!!, zen has some nice gotoh 2point trems really neat,.

btw i saw this TREMKING at a store at bras basah complex(i forgot the store's name) it was quite nice too, they let me try the whammy bar it was so smooth, a fixed bridge but with a trem, i think its a big help to those who use the tremelo while 2 string bendings it wont give a dead note on the other string coz its the trem block that moves and not the saddles, i think its kinda same as khaler trems, can also use it reverse and it gives a note and a half jump, maybe if my ears are not lying to me.. i think its worth trying i had fun using it,.

If you don't use the trem, and you set it all the way against the body, then it doesn't matter if 2 or 6 point. My ebmms are 2 point. They sustain longer than most Les Pauls I have tried. And even as long as my custom r7bb!!!

haha.. sorry i just kept on typing and typing didnt bother to check.. you can search the tremking in the internet, maybe in forums and youtube..
you can try them at a shop at bras basah complex..
