5w tube amps......help

Hi all. I've been looking at a few of the 5 watt tube amplifiers to purchase to use as my second tube amp at the end of the year. I've been looking at the Epi Valve Jr and the Blackheart little giant mainly.

Of the two, which is the better choice? I was sure on the Blackheart cause it seemed more versatile and I've heard that it sounds the better of the two. However, the blackheart uses solid state rectifier, which means it's not a full tube amp? And to my knowledge, the blackheart is slightly cheaper than th VJ?

If there are anyone who has experience with both amps, please do give me advice on the topic, and maybe suggest a few other tube amps of around that price range? thank you.

My main guitar is a stock MIA jaguar, going into an OCD or a Maxon OD808 into the amplifier. I tend to use a combination of amplifier drive and pedal drive, but usually using amp drive to get a nice blues tone, and adding pedal drive to give me a harder rock tone. At least that's what I've been doing with my Laney. The amp hopefully should be able to give a decent clean tone as well, so i can a/b it with my Laney.

I play all kinds of rock music, but more on the blues/hard rock region nowadays. However, I want to be able to play the softer side to rock as well as, hopefully, but not necessarily, metal, with the aid of my drive pedals.
