eh u all TC alort lah......

anyways, back to the point...

if u want a gd drumset, save up and buy...

for me i've totaled coming to 3k spend on my drums/cymbals/hardwares..

so yeah, work get money or save up ur daily allowances...

as for me, i did both.. my parents only blanja my IC's dbl peds... and also my previous drum set...

hahah! sorry sorry!

was TC to entertain ma!

ok. back to the point. so i need at least 3k to buy one drum set?

that would be like. i'll be so damn old liao then i'll be able to get one drum set.

one by one??
so actually buy one by one?
i thought buy set will be cheaper?

so i start of with sticks...
then snare...

suddenly no money...

dont have the thing to hold the snare....
how to play?

keep rolling on snare?

not sian?

come on lah use commen sense..

A kit always sold as a standard 5 piece UNLESS u custom order to add extra toms or whatever u want.

also custom made drums are made to YOUR specifications.

OR

U buy separate pieces lah but it's not logic to buy piece by piece what... LOL!!

Drumming is not just u get a snare and start ur rudiments on it..

There's ALORT of other things u need to consider... here are some i can think off now..

A good snare - $400++
Good Hardware - $ ask drum shops
Cymbals - $ Own preference as to what sound and model.
Mid-range kit - $1.8k a pdp mx or cx series.

Many drummers would tell u to save up and buy a GOOOD snare and buy a snare stand so u can practise on..

ur next investment would be cymbals... Good cymbals like sabians don't come cheap though..

than a entry-level or mid-range kit pending on what uses to it.

lastly good hardware like pedals hi-hat stands...

if got extra, add whatever u want lah, timbales, blocks, bongos... Experiment, learn, invest...

good gears comes with good prices... but it all boils down to urself lah, how u wanna practise and all that..

it doesn't hurt to have good equips and u don't play well... but u will someday be a professional if u put ur heart and soul into drumming haha...

thats all bout now..

Oh and btw, people practise for HOURS sometimes a WHOLE day just on rudiments on the snare so u tell me or ask them if they sian?

oh btw.. many people started out buying a snare first.. than to a kit.. than to cymbals...

what i did was buy a crappy kit, sold it.. buy a snare, hardwares, cymbals...

now i need is a kit...

mannnn, its cool lah.

i got a 50 dollar kit, i shite u not hahahha. crappy hardware which is a pain and even crappier cymbals, back when i'm in sing.
it's a practice kit and thts it.
i wld rather spend cash on a gd snare and cymbals.
so when i gig i can use them.
who cares really abt the prac kit, as long as it sounds decent and dun detune much ur gd as gold mate.

practicing rudiments for hr??!! of course sian lah. u got to do it though. hahhaha

my advice to to get a cheap ass kit with decent hardware. spend on ur snare and cymbals. maybe get a gd pedal

uh...

i'm seeing words that i don't understand!

its my friend who is starting out not me..

nvm...

so snare, then practice like shit then kit.

then into hardware and cymbals?

right?

to thevelvet:

comparing a carlos with a pdp cx series and above kit is like comparing a Original Schwinn Bike with a Made in china copy..

Initially, many would go for made in china copy as it's cheaper, BUT, the materials, workmanship and all that reflects on the bike performance and eventually it will have to go through many sessions in the ahpek bike shop than the road itself.

A decent cx or mx kit is made of all-maple shells, with top of the line features from DW drums. So quality is an assurance - even though pdp is a subsidiary for a huge custom drum company...

like SIA and SILKAIR like that...

and that's of my limited knowledge, haven't go on shell construction, shell wood, hardware.. and GRADE OF WOOD!!

but it's as simple as comparing to an original lacoste shirt to a fake made in thailand 99% copy of it.. - same concept as the schwinn
