16jan07: MUSE @ Fort Canning Park

The show was awesome! And that encore set was simply incredible man.. the way Dominic & Chris ended with a drum/bass blast. :D Matt's guitar hurl was cool too.

The crowd was ok I guess, but definitely could have been more enthu though. I didn't see security doing anything to stop bodysurfers at all.. pretty relaxed environment IMO, as compared to, eg. Baybeats' evil security army?

But DAMN.. alot of people passed out issit? Kept seeing the crew upfront carrying out people.

Oh yah - Anyone took pictures? :P
 
here is a gig review i've done

Muse playing was fantastic as usual, it started off with knights of cydonia. powerful as usual. it then led to hysteria which blew everyone with the bass intro riff.

then came map of the problematique, everyone played exceptionally well. matt played butterflies and hurricanes and everyone went berserk. supermassive black hole and since it was a relatively new single, everyone sang along with matt getting into the song.
new born was next with an almost perfect performance and the awesome solo of course!

then it broke into the forced in instrumental part. with matt playing it on his silver manson. this then led to bliss with a few mistakes here and there. and as usual, out came the bliss balloons. with dom and chris playing along to the balloons as they get burst. feeling good was next and the band played an awesome performance of it. the next came as a 'surprise' as matt played sunburn. with the crowd automatically cheering once the intro was played. invincible was next as matt played one of the best intro to a song on the kaoss manson.

time is running out was next and the crowd sang along to it. next was plug in baby with the oh so familiar fuzz factory intro and to the pib riff.

it was the encore next.

soldier's poem was the next song and matt played it on the acoustic. with an awesome rendition of it too. starlight was next and everyone clapped along. matt however sang off key but that didnt dampen the spirit of the song. for the final song, matt played an awesome riff which then led to stockholm syndrome. the crowd went wild and the finale was excellent!

overall, an awesome performance for the 3 boys and morgan of course.
 
I was in front and I had complains behind cuz I was too tall.

But anyway it was awesome :lol:

this show makes me wet!as if there were rain.

was worth it man!! met some cool people! well supermassive blackhole was the crowd puller and some singles! the MOSHING and PUSHING wasnt that bad! hopefully,they will come again nxt yr or sumtg! finale was awesome!

so yeah!heading to bed man!so tired after all that moshing and stuff! a great show after all!
 
It was an unbelievably powerful and amazing show!
Stockholm Syndrome was one heck of a good song to end the show,

it's really really really awesome but ppl cant stop pushing even when the show hadnt began.haha.however i got quite used to it.
but during the encore i nearly broke down(maybe coz that i didnt eat anything since 11 o'clock) ppl ard me asked if i was ok so the security guy but i said i was fine coz i wanted to hold on to the last.after that, i felt really ok!!!!!!it was like....wow!
didnt take many pix coz it was quite hard to hold the cam but anyways i enjoyed myself and it was a really blast!

btw,who had the set list?
 
Excellent set by Muse, disgraceful act by singapore for the bottle throwing at them. Moshing and pushing? I had a bunch of 4 orphans in front of me who had no parental guidance, who didn't even bothered whether are there even human beings behind them...thrashing their elbows about.

1 of the better acts to have come to our island so far, albeit a short set. Setlist was very well chosen and a tight band display

great show as expected, bad crowd as mentioned(imo)hey did anyone see matthew or chris anywhere before the gig? like in some music or guitar stores?
 
awesome!

i was like 1m from the barrier.

left side (facing the stage)

woot. but the pushing (not moshing) was bad.

the first 2 songs were bad

cause of the crowd

i was struggling to breathe. 1000000Newtons on me lol.

after that was alright had space to jump and mosh abit. hahaha im not that hardcore.

what a waste, i didnt get to enjoy knigts of cydonia and hysteria (first 2), cause cudnt breathe and concentrate on the show. just tried to put my foot at a nice spot and support

btw, i reached there 12pm to queue :lol:

But was disappointed with the people throwing bottles on stage man. Wth was that for..sheesh.
