environment at DXO kicks ass doesnt it?
Thank you EVERYONE who came for helping make it happen, all the bands, X'ho, Shah (sound guy) Ben (Especially ben, I couldnt have pulled this off without you outbreed comrade) and Dinesh, head of security who was pretty tolerant
good news:
1. Everyone who I put on guestlist and supported the event despite SINGFEST and despite the CHAOS of NDP (They cordoned off the whole DXO area, our own staff couldnt get in!!) - you guys who showed up really must have climbed fences and supported the SCENE. So whoever got on guestlist/waved-in by me you are there PERMANENTLY on thurs. That includes all bands who've have played.
2. If you guys are playing, please remember to pass all the biodata of your band (full names, IC numbers, Addresses) because the longer you stall, the longer you get paid. I have to submit all the info to finance dept for processing and it gets slotted into a queue. If we can get the sales up (that means more people showing up and NOT doing the 7-11 thing) I could justify increments in band payments. This aint no pay to play show, all bands are PAID across the board.
3. Our new resident band was good isnt it? I'm going to request them to play newer stuff like My chemical romance etc. to kick off the night. we even had the technical metalheads cheering at the guitarist haha
4. I have a permanent Merch table at the patio for you guys to sell your CDs/ T-shirts buttons etc. Every week.
5. Please wear CLOSED SHOES (no slippers) and NO BERMUDAS. Several people were not let in due to this club rule.
end result: Hell of a good time. And some of the walk-ins actually stayed and watched ALL of the bands. Its working, but its only the beginning
SKY IN EUPHORIA and IVYS VENDETTA next week!
P.s.: Ying, nice dancing with you, come again okay?
Love,
Saito
