what is a 13 pin midi cable? where do you connect it to?

a 13 pin midi cable is used to connect a guitar synth to the GK pickup. here's an example of it http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Roland-GKC-13Pin-Cable?sku=700295

it does not necessarily have to be "Roland" brand. planet waves makes them too but i can't find it anywhere.

they only have the 5 pin cable..no 13 pin..
