Trying to get a SS bass for myself, because occasionally I can get bored of my guitar, and it'll be nice to have a bass for recording parts on as well ^^
Any ideas on where to get one? The VM Jaguar Special SS seems to be the most ideal bass for a budget, short scale and most of all "playable-out-the-box" bass, and I can't wait to get my hands on one.
PS: Tried SweeLee, sV Guitars but apparently both don't stock this model.

Other than the above model, what other short scale basses, on a budget (hopefully close to 200 bucks), could you guys recommend for a guy who's mainly a guitarist?
Also, do SS basses use the same strings as normal basses or are there specific sets of strings to get?
