Using Octave

Has anyone tried turning their guitars into bass monsters using the Octave pedal effects? I find that the tones sound a bit fake.....

no octave effect will turn the guitar into bass monster. Its too limited for that.

if wanna bass with guitar, closest is roland guitar synth with the bass patches blend with guitar signal, it aint perfect, but it will work and much better than octave pedals

Oh there was this once my bad was lackin a bassist. So i bought a 2nd hand Boss octave 2 and well... it sounded ok with a compressor infront and a distortion pedal on overdrive settings behind... But on cleans, it didn't sound as good as a real bass. =D

Now that i havea bassist... I'm still using octaves for heavy riffing... friggin boomy
