What is TalentQuest?

TalentQuest is an annual nationwide singing and talent competition organized by the NUS Students Science Club since 1998.

All shortlisted bands from auditions rounds will be given discounted rates from Shiinstudio as below:

$14 / hour (off-peak period: Mon – Fri 12 pm - 5 pm)
$16 / hour (peak period: Mon – Fri 5 pm- 12 midnight, weekends 12 pm – 12 midnight)

3.)Bring a hardcopy of the registration form and your registration fees to the auditions..

Fees?!?!
Bad news, competition is not free.
Good news, its cheap.

- $10 per person for vocal solo
- $15 per group for vocal group
- $25 per band
- $5 regardless number of songs for Original Composition

hi I'm just wondering.. we need a legal karaoke discs for vocal solo category right.. Does this mean we have to purchase a new karaoke disc for every round? Its pretty tedious and it's not easy to find a particular song.

You still need to purchase legal karaoke CD, we working out on better solutions.

Chinese and English lyrics allowed.
For vocal group , no live instruments allowed. So if you planning to play instruments, then you need to register under bands category.
You can write out how you 2 people going to perform then we can advice which category you need to join.

The payment can be made on the day of audition, remenber to bring your registration form together.

Yes, you may play covers and also evanescence's songs.

how much time will the band be given to perform for the event and the auditions?

For audition, each bands is given 10 minutes,including maximum 3 minutes for set up time.
For final each band is given 15 minutes,including maximum 5 minutes set up time.

Sorry for the anwser before, there is missunderstanding on the rules.
You still need to purchase legal karaoke CD, we working out on better solutions.
There will be 2 round for Bands and Vocal Groups,
3 round for Vocal solo.

No. As stated in the rules, no live musical instruments can be used during each performance.

2 guitar amps, 1 bass amp, 1 keyboard, and a drum set will be provided. You need prepare your own guitar.

Please provide us with Legal CD, but Burned CD is allowed if only the song cant be found.
Semi Final Canceled.
Grand Final date changed to 21th March.
Either one keyboard or one guitar is allowed for vocal solo and group
