Join us as we culminate months of research, curation and documentation of Singapore's rock music community spanning six decades from 1960s to the present day.

So Happy: 50 Years of Singapore Rock will celebrate 100 bands and artistes that were critical to our rock music scene, through 100 photos from over 40 photographers. Many of these photos have been kept under wraps for the exhibition, which includes a number of rarely-seen and exclusive photos.

At the gallery will also be a collection of artefacts—including flyers, vinyl records, cassettes, and ticket stubs—along with a music mix and video interviews with 10 personalities who have made a difference in our rock history.

The title was inspired by the 1991 radio hit, "So Happy," recorded by Singapore indie band The Oddfellows, and the exhibition will be held from 8-17 April 2015 at The Substation Gallery.

To top it off, there will be 2 nights of gigs that will feature The Oddfellows, Riot !n Magenta, THE PINHOLES on 8 April, and Plainsunset, Rudra and LC93 on 9 Apr in The Substation Theatre from 8pm to 10pm each day. The gigs are free!

This project by creative agency, fFurious, is supported by the Singapore Memory Project's irememberSG Fund, The Substation, Antalis SEA and Thunder Rock School, as part of the Singapore50 (SG50) Celebrations.
