The Singapore International Jazz Battle (SIJB) is a new initiative by the We Love Jazz organisation to celebrate excellence in jazz performance which will take place 21-23rd September 2018 at LASALLE College Of The Arts.
SIJB uniquely includes both group and solo divisions, where each platform is open to any participant under age 30 who are serious about honing their craft and expression in jazz. Besides individuals and groups, public schools are highly encouraged to send their representative CCA jazz groups, in the spirit of cultivating school pride and fostering a constructive practising curriculum that works towards an annual challenge. A B O U T : SIJB 2018
The Singapore International Jazz Battle (SIJB) is a new initiative by the We Love Jazz organisation to celebrate excellence in jazz performance which will take place 21-23rd September 2018. Designed to motivate and support the regional Jazz community, through an inclusive yet healthy competitive platform, the SIJB aims to create an inspirational space for the exchange of ideas between participants whilst they gain critical feedback and encouragement from an internationally recognised judging panel. In addition, the forum segment of the SIJB seeks to bring together stakeholders from throughout the region; to discuss common goals in the elevation of technical standards, creativity and innovation, and to raise awareness of Jazz as an art form throughout South East Asia.
