Singapore boy is top junior drummer in China

10-year-old Ethan Ong beat 51 other Chinese junior hopefuls to clinch first place in the junior drum category at the 4th National Youth Percussion Instrument Competition at Shanghai, China.

Organised by 10 professional music institutions in China, the annual competition is the largest of its kind in the world.

The event attracted more than 300 individual participants and 47 teams comprised of 400 participants from 46 provinces and cities, including Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.

just wondering...what style of music is he playing?
i am newbie...i dun play drums...but i like drum music
i went to youtube to search....i feel his drumming style is different leh...
a bit messy compared to those cd i listen to...maybe there is something that i do not know or appreciate?
my favourite drum music are fromt his cd..maybe they are different style?
