I am sorry but can't help just pass this thread. Did your friend really paid over $2300 SGD for this guitar at "Swee lee" I can find this same model new one listing at $599 USD on ebay. Am I missing somrthing or is the price mistaken? I hardly believe such a big murchandise like swee lee ripped your friend off. Or your friend is just lying to you.

I hv this guitar b4..bought from softies only $450 brand new condition.U sell $1700 ?...lol.I think the screws made of gold..hahaha..watta joke.

I'm not surprised until quite recently Swee Lee's prices have always been pretty inflated, even now but to a smaller more bearable extent. It's a 60th anniv MIM which I suspect to be a Classic or Classic Player series. Worth slightly more than your average MIM Standard but I agree I'm calling bluff on someone paying 2.3k for a Mexican fender, you'd probably have to be really stupid to take a deal like that.

Less of a joke than your grammar. I'm pretty sure it's not a standard series strat which is what you've probably got.
