I would like to know about the quality of Roland DM 10 studio monitor
(RM 850).Is there any other monitor in the same price range?Anybody is there to help me?
Please...

Perhaps you would like to give me the money instead? You'll get the same results.

Just joking.

Roland makes good synths but L O U S Y monitors. Spend you hardearned cash elsewhere. Eg Yamaha MSP3 (rated one of the best low end monitors by Future Music in a blind test).

Thanx for the reply...
but DM 10 and 20 is having a digital input. What is its importants?

To me , NO.

But if you're on a budget and are hoping to use your computer motherboard's SPDIF output, maybe.

But seriously, all the reviews I've read DO NOT recommend Roland monitors.

You might want to try the Behringer Truths as an alternative. They're cheap, useable but, of course, not in the same league as the Mackies and Geneles.

But if you ask me, try the Yamaha MSP3 1st.

ok.I have gone through the msp3 reviews....
thanx...
Let me ask you something else.
Is it advisable to use a digital monitor to assess the quality of a work?

No. I don't think there's a compelling reason to do so.

Most of your listeners will still be on "analogue" speakers anyway. Likewise most studios are using analogue (okay, high quality EXPENSIVE analogue speakers) for monitoring. So to me, there's really no advantage to using a digital speaker unless your D/A converters of your mixer/soundcard etc is really bad.

You could also try the M-Audio BX-5.

Ok Guys..I listened to Fostex Studio Monitors which has been launched recently at Hung Bros on 11/12/04...

For a price of S$780 per pair, it did not disappoint me...quiet nice sounding and reasonable for value...( Instead of Buying Behringer 2031, You can buy this)

So..Go and give a tryout...and let all the members know your comments..

Thanks for your kind reply..
As I am new to this field let me ask you something more..
I have Yamaha MG 10 mixer and emu 0404. Mixers recording out
(rca type- L and R) is -10 db and speaker out (phones 1/4-L and R ) is
4db. Which output should be connected to emu for a better result?
Thanks ...
