Questions about tone of guitar

What if I want to play Eric Clapton, BB King, Black Sabbath, Avenged Sevenfold. Then don't I need to buy so many gadgets just to sound like them ? Do you just play regardless of whether you sound like them or not ? Will ppl laugh at me if I play metal but my guitar tone sound like Hendrix ? Or I play Hendrix using basic setup but no Fuzz whatsoever, can or not ?

I would like to suggest a cheap & good gadget - Zoom G3x. Efx & Amps included.
You can practice on headphones & then connect to an external speaker if you need an audio output.

There are just so many gadgets around and I am usually lost as to which to spend moolah on. Guess I can try your suggestion. Thanks !
