I'm now very tempted to find a new project to participate!!:D

By the way, classical guitars can or not?

Dear Master DIYers,

I need some expert advise...

My gretsch has a loose strap knob. Since its a hollow bodied guitar, the threads on the wood have all gave way already.
Anyone have any experience in fixing this? I'm not intending to re drill another hole. Is it possible to fill the hole and refit the strap knob? If so, what should i use?

:(

What I would do (some may think otherwise) is to fill the existing hole with small pieces of wood (tooth picks works for me) seal off with some super glue / max bond . Cut off excess wood . Let it dry and rescrew the knob.
I usually use this same method for tuner heads where the holes gets too big or loose.

GOOD LUCK !:)
