problem with bass

hello,

each time my brother plugs in his bass to his amp their is a sound coming otu of the amp. it's not humming, it's more like a high pitched sound.

initially I found it's plug was loose so I tried tightening it but it didnt change anything. changing the cable didnt help too...

any idea were it could come from please? (it's an active 5 strings yamaha bass)

could it be the battery? try changing it and see how it goes

like e4t3n says, could be battery.

also check if there are any other nearby electronics switch on. whenever i play my bass with the laptop on and in front of me, it produces an annoying sea wave sound. always good to isolate electronics.

its ur batt. change it and the high pitch noise wil go away. thats the biggest problem with yamaha preamps

It's your battery alright..

Noise caused by surrounding electronics will cause low/humming pitch noise... to be sure, turn off all electrical equipment (excluding your bass amp, of course ) .. then try.. if still create noise, it is the battery... if nothing changed, it could be the electronics/pickup..
