Just like to share 3 simple positions to play a G chord on the bass.

there's one more which i use often. basically it inverts the 5th tone

-----5(D)

Another one. C chord

---0(G)--
---2(E)--
---3(C)--
---0(E)--

C - 1
E - 3
G - 5

Pluck open E like a backgrd note then play the chord tone (135).
