Hi there O mighty museos of SOFT-land!
I have started a cosy outfit doing mostly original music and we have written and recorded a few tunes with a couple more in the oven.
Looking for musicians who are (in order of importance):
1) respectful, responsible, patient and polite. We are all matured working adults here who show up on time, practice our parts, able communicate without swearing etc etc. Having said this, there is no age restriction.
2) keen on mostly original music, so far we have written songs about our cats, the Chinese 7 month, our work environment, the forest scene just before a thunderstorm, and a bass duet instrumental of frogs having a conversation...all in various styles of music from light hearted jazz to grunge to spoken word to alt-rock.
3) open-minded and happy to explore and learn about the multiverse of music. We are an open-genre group so you must be able and happy to morph.
4) skilled in your instrument. Skilled meaning you should be communicate your musical ideas through your instrument.
Its 2016 and somehow getting 4 people in a room to jam regularly is increasingly difficult. So the idea of this collective is to work around a home recording which can be passed around and developed. We might not jam as a full band every week but may only gather when 5 or 6 tunes are 'baked' to sample our work live and do some tweaking.
The goal is kind of like Snarky Puppy style, get a core group of musicians who know the material well and who can improvise and we can all sub in and out depending on who's in town.
Right now we are looking for a
1) drummer/percussionist
2) keyboardist/sampler
3) guitarist
4) singers
5) wind/brass instrument players
We are currently a bass-player, a keyboardist, 2 singers and a guitarist.
This is at the moment a hobbyist group so no world tours or SONY record deals on the horizon, just for fun and personal musical development and the satisfaction of having our own home-made album/s eventually.
