hey guys,
not sure if this is the place to place this.

I have a friend going over to NYC for a business trip.

He'll be purchasing a guitar from the stores there, so i thought i might want to ask him to get a bass for me too.

Tricky part is that I have no idea of what are the stores over at NYC and there a loads of choices there.

I'll need some recommendations on which stores to hit and if possible on what are some of the basses i can get for below $1.5K?

I'm looking for an active 4 string bass by the way.

Got myself a Gibby (not bass) from Guitar Center Manhattan, a model that is exclusive to Guitar Center.

In Midtown there's a few cool places, Sam Ash, Rudy's (vintage stuff), 30th Street and First Flight. I've walked through all a couple of months ago, but I unfortunately didn't check out basses.

You might want to go down to their individual websites and check out what they've got.

Sam Ash has one of the largest store space amongst all the Midtown stores =D
