Hi All,

wad's wrong if there is a noticable vol difference between different strings when playing @ equal strength.

E - Normal
A- Normal
D- soft
G - soft

could it be pickup problem?
different string gauges?
setup issues?

any help pls?

maybe the pickup heights and possibly the action also,

a skillful luthier could fix that right up for u with a setup

Well, thicker strings tend to be louder. Just use a screwdriver to make the pickup closer to the D and G strings.

My bass seems to be the other way round cause im using a 5 string bass. My B string is as good as mute. But the other 4 is fine. What could possibly be the problem?

if low b sounds mute, perhaps the amp is not powerful to drive the cone to reproduce the low rumble. what is the bass amp you are using?

or perhaps the low b string is sloppy, is the bass a long scale 34" or longer?

like mentioned earlier, adjusting pickup height will do it. if not, a compressor will also help, but will also affect the tone a great deal.

amps below a certain power and speaker size just can't reproduce lows well.

Could be the bass. A good fiver with a tight B-string is hard(er) to find.
