About the Speakers
Hidzir Junaini

During his career in media, he's served as an editor at well-known entertainment publications such as JUICE Singapore and Bandwagon Asia, alongside a stint as the regional editor for popular streaming service Deezer. Tim De Cotta
"If knowledge is power then, knowing is the path to understanding, acceptance and ultimately, love. Love is king. Music is love's mouthpiece, its propaganda, its soothing heal."
Tim De Cotta is a vocalist, bassist, songwriter and producer who believes in keeping his art pure and full of love and life. Styled in R&B and HipHop, Tim draws influences from artists such as Frank Ocean, John Legend, Common and Mos Def while styling his bass-playing after the likes of Derrick Hodge and Stuart Zender. Having played with various bands such as the now defunct, SIXX, Tim also loves getting his hands dirty in musical diversity, pushing the boundaries in writing and production.
He is also a highly sought-after sessionist playing and recording with many artistes over the years.

Vanessa Fernandez
Vanessa’s foray into the world of music began when she was just 12 in the church choir.
When she was 16, Vanessa became part of the Singapore Repertory Theatre Young Company, and at 18 she became part of Urban Xchange, who was nominated for Best Singapore Act at the 2002 MTV Asia Music Awards.
Vanessa was a DJ on 987fm from 2006-2010, subsequently joined audio-visual collective, Syndicate, and released an album with veteran producer, Jason Tan, as Octover.
In 2011, Vanessa journeyed to Los Angeles to work on her debut solo effort the Vandetta EP. The first single off her upcoming Vandetta EP, "Fly", received positive reviews from influential media such as Pitchfork, MTV Iggy and the LA Weekly.
In 2013 Vanessa rejoined radio as Assistant Programme Director of Lush99.5fm. Her goal is to balance supporting and growing the Singapore music scene while continuously evolving as an artist and performer.

About the Moderator
Elias Soh
Elias is a producer, musician, radio DJ and freelance journalist from Singapore.
He currently helms the daily evening drive time programme on Lush 99.5FM, Singapore’s premier radio station for art and independent music.
As a journalist, Elias has written about music, culture and mixed martial arts.
Beginning his musical journey with a beat-up Yamaha keyboard, a 14-year-old Elias hooked the instrument up to his family’s hi-fi set, put on some preset drum loops and played minor chords over them. A couple years of an internet-based music education consisting of Burial, Autechre, Amon Tobin, Flying Lotus, the Beatles and the like pushed Elias to consider production.
His self-titled debut EP on electronic label Qilin Music even caught the eye of a reviewer at the New York Post, who declared the music “would leave you cotton-mouthed for more”, and that Elias was an “Artist to Watch” alongside British math-rock band The Foals.
With Syndicate, Elias has worked and performed alongside acts like Jamie Woon (Polydor, UK), Ikonika (Planet Mu), Daisuke Tanabe (Brownswood, JP), Dizz1 (Aus), Samiyam (Brainfeeder, US) and Om Unit (UK).
He is also an ardent practitioner of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
