whats up softies, merry christmas!

got my HT-5C (C - combo type) awhile back, and i feel it cant give me that metal tone that im looking for. any suggestions on any overdrive/distortion pedals or EQ settings to get me that good metal tone ( think of the All That Remains guitar tones n stuff.)

budget for any pedals: under 200$

Ibanez tubescreamer, MXR ZW Overdrive or even a Boss SD-1

try this setting bass 10, mids 4 and treble 7 for scooped metal

or the way kerry king from slayer does it bass 6, mids 10 and treble 6 which is unique to him (note he doesnt actually set his amp like this, he uses a graphic equalizer to insanely boost the mids)

I'm not too sure exactly, never been looking for it, go to blackwood there are plenty of pedals there that can help you boost your amp into high gain. If not go to swee lee and try the pedals out

you can easily get a ts9dx as boost for all your tube distortions from sweelee.

on tube amps i found that turning the gain on a metal muff to zero, and turning the volume up to 10 provided a very sweet, mid-heavy boost.
