* * * * * * Jan Clyde Started playing music at the early age of 12 from Classical guitar to Electric guitar and started his Professional Music career at 17. He joined various bands and song-writing competition and won the STI College National Talent Search 2010, Muzikademy in 2010, and ABS-CBN’s Nokia Music Connection. At the age of 18 he started teaching and sharing his talent as an Electric Guitar Instructor at Lazer Music Company. Together with Philippines’ Heavy Metal giant band ,”Slash N’ Burn” he has been part of signing a recording and management contract in Star Records owned by Philippines’ No. 1 media and TV channel network, ABS-CBN Corp. Clyde appeared in various ABS-CBN Music T.V Shows; MYX Live, MYX Premier, Music Up late, The Brew Rats Republic and in Channel V Philippines. Moreover, he has also been active in radio guesting in various local radio networks like Tambayan 101.9, DIG Radio, GMA7 97.1 WLS FM, Manila Broadcasting Company, Yes FM and Love Radio. He was also been featured in some local music publishing magazines like Banda, MYX MAG and PULP MAGAZINE.
Clyde has vast exposure in live tours and big stage performances from south of Manila, North City and around the Metro with Philippines’ famous local bands like Wolfgang, Razor Back, Rivermaya, The Dawn, Urbandud and other OPM acts. In MAY of 2011, he has been part of Slash N’ Burn band official debut song, “Shove the Heavy Loads” which became a major hit in the daily countdown in Mainstream Radio 101.9 top 15 in Rock category together with bands like Slapshock and Wilabaliw. Sometime in August 2011, ABS-CBN MYX released the official music video directed by the award winning, music director, Treb Monteras for the song “Shove the Heavy Loads”, Philippines’ First Heavy Metal Band in mainstream music.*
The succeeding months, SLASH N’ BURN competed and betted for the Global Battle of the bands World 2011 and won 1st runner up in the National Finals on Nov 26, 2011. In March 2012, Clyde won “Colt 45 Shred to Slam 2012 (Shred Guitar Competition”) as over-all National Champion. He competed and vied against hundreds of guitar players in the Philippines. *At the age of 19, he was hailed as “One of the Best and Fastest Filipino Guitarist of 2012”.
