Dear Young Lyricists (Especially those who are still schooling),

Lyrics writing can be a pain, because it is either
1) Your command of the language is not there yet, or
2) The words are unable to fit the structure of the music, if the grammar is totally flawless

My advise to you:

Don't be bother by Grammar & Vocab when Lyrics

Songwriting is an art, not a language assignment.
There will always be people who have a higher command of language than you, who will criticize your grammar, and sometimes even vocabulary.

The English language, is a ridiculous language, because it has so many kind of tense, and you have to apply correctly in tests or examination in order to get an A. So those people who say you have applied a wrong tense in your lyrics,

you can either, concede defeat, and change it,
or
ignore the critique and keep your original idea.

You see, when people listen to your songs, let say...

"The Mini Stars is now worried..."

People understand what message you are trying to convey if their IQ is higher than 120...
Only those people with IQ 120 or lower will say, it should have been

" The mini stars are now worried..."

Because when you write a lyrics, your target audience are those with high IQ who can interpret

ABSTRACT CONTENT

People who keep finding fault in your grammar or vocab are usually teachers or professors, who only know how to follow rules laid down by Oxtail University.

MUSIC is ART, and Grammar has nothing to do with ART.

another example

Language : Liverpool are going to win the English Premier League .

Art : Liverpool is going to be EPL champions after 30 years of tribulation

See the difference?

I hope young lyricists can join in the art of lyrics writing... and just put forth your idea, without being too much affected by

...err... by not getting an 'A' ??

LOL
