Anyone tried before telecaster compensated saddles? Thinking of upgrading my normal brass saddles to compensated one.

originals tele saddles have flat bottoms, the intonation replacement round ..thats about it...

Hi, don't really want to dig up this old thread but didn't want to start a new one either to ask a question.

I am interested in changing Tele saddles for my Squier CV Thinline. It currently has 3 barrel type stainless steel saddles but I have been considering a change to compensated saddles as well but can't really decide if I should be looking for different materials like brass or graphtechs.

Does anyone have any experience with using either brass or Graphtech (or both) for comparison?
I have read that brass is brighter and Graphtechs are mellow. Is there any truth to this?

Graphtech IMO is more for preventing string breakage (if you are an aggressive string bender). Tone wise hardly audible. However, Brass saddles do make a difference in tone. your guitar would sound a tad bit brighter (even acoustically).

You should use Joe Barden's compensated set.

Got my set from guitar connection. Quite pricy for a set of saddles but it sure works better compared to the vintage styled saddles.
