Commonly used tabs

Pardon me for this thread, cause I dunno where to put this. Hopefully I put it in the right place

My friend and I are in the midst of writing songs, but for some reason the tabs we come up with don't seem to match very well. On piano yes, but not so on the guitar.

is there any database where commonly used tabs can be found? I noticed that a lot of songs by various bands then to use the same tabs/chords (unless I'm completely deaf, cause they all sound the same) so I'm just wondering whether there was any place where we could find such tabs
