The popularity of Thai music and culture has been rapidly growing right here in Singapore, and this reaches a pinnacle with the concerts brought in by BMI Global Connections under the Thai Pop Music Festival (TPMF) umbrella. BMI Global Connections is organising their 6th TPMF concert; their 4th in 2010, with Thailand’s undisputed number one pop-rock band, Bodyslam, to perform at the largest Thai-concept “Live” entertainment hall in Singapore, Club Atlantis.
Since their official opening in December 2009, Club Atlantis has been setting the tempo in the vibrant “Live” entertainment night-scene and has rapidly gained popularity through several high-profile events. Boasting a staggering land area of 22,000 sq-ft, Club Atlantis is the biggest Thai-concept nightspot in Singapore yet. Having held 2 previous TPMF concerts previously to crowds numbering in the thousands, Club Atlantis will be doing one better this time with the ace of them all, Thai superstars Bodyslam! This first-time ever Singaporean performance by Bodyslam is proudly sponsored by Chivas, Carlsberg and Value Hotel.
Since debuting as the “Hot Wave Music Awards” national band competition winners in 1997, Bodyslam has taken the Thai music scene by storm. It acquired its name “Bodyslam” in 2002 and won the Channel [V] Thailand Music Video Awards for “Favourite Group” in 2003. Thereafter, the band continued scaling the summits of musical stardom by signing a deal with Genie Records, the famed rock music label under GMM Grammy, Thailand’s largest records company. Bodyslam’s third album Believe was launched in April 2005 and made them one of Thailand’s premier bands. The success of this album rocketed the band to super-stardom and took them on a long nation-wide tour taking up most of 2005 and some parts of 2006. In September 2007, Bodyslam released their fourth album Save My Life and their 2 major concerts that followed in Bangkok in October 2007 and July 2008 saw record crowds in the tens of thousands, both selling out on their first day of sales. Now the most popular band in Thailand, Bodyslam won “Best Rock Group”, “Best Rock Album” and “Best Rock Song” awards in March 2008. In June 2010, Bodyslam released their fifth album “Kraam” to record sales and rave reviews by Thai music fanatics all over the world, sealing their glistening reputation as the most popular and one of the best-selling artiste from Thailand in this decade.
“Bodyslam Kraam Singapore Concert 2010 EVERYBODYSLAM” is a one-night only concert that will be held on the 25th August 2010 at 10pm. Tickets are at $38 before the concert day, and $50 (with 1 free Carlsberg pint) on concert day. Due to the frenzied response to Bodyslam’s first-ever live performance in Singapore, all tickets are on a first come first serve basis.
