Bass tone

Hi Guys.

I need some help on finding out to achieve a particular tone.

The bass tone on the song Never Again by Nickelback. I have tried with my basses my can't achieve the tone.

I am currently using a Mark Hoppus Jazz Bass with Quarter pounders just for this song.
I normally use a Trace Elliot Status T-Bass, but I doubt i can achieve that tone with it.

Any suggestions?

sounds like a tone produced by a 5-string bass using d lowest string...just an opinion though.i'm a total noob when it comes to gears n sound effects.haha
