depends on what kind of tone you are looking for.

if u want a good versatile bass, get a Fender Jazz bass.

the deluxe active is on offer now cos the old single coil ver has discontinued. it costs 1.5k w/o discount @sweelee. a little bit over your budget but when u see it with the same price as a standard model, u'll want it i'm sure. haha

hmm dunno leh i dun like fender's basses lar abit too traditional design i would wan a active bass made with rosewood neck 24 frets and a booster switch any suggestions ?

whoa u seems gd yep saw some basses from cort haha not bad australian brand haha so wad bass you are you usin at the moment ? i've used my fren's yamaha rbx 774 it was great but well too ex lar. lookin for a cheaper replacement hahaha

i'm using a squier p bass affinity. the lowest end frm squier =x

i juz changed the pickups to seymour duncan basslines SPB2 hot and now it's a big diff in sound. a lot clearer and more punchy. and the eq settings are left flat! haha.

i actually wanted the j bass.. but.. too ex.. so i juz changed the pickups.. heh
