Anyone share the same interest as me: to be a film maker?

I shared that somewhat shorted lived interest back when I was studying design and interactive art in Lasalle SIA, till it hit me that no one in SG can act for nuts... IMO

Use HD lah.

MDA will back you up as they are pushing the film industry...

If you're just starting out, my advice is to take it easy. You don't need an uber camcorder to be venturing into film. More importantly I feel is to have a passionate team and the mind to want to break out of Singapore's ever oh so cliche themes of i.e. Gangsterism, nightlife etc.

If you're thinking of Roystan Tan, don't; cause what he did was a one hit wonder thing.

Do you have any experience with lighting, photography, post production.. you know the likes of what goes into making a film, documentary?

With this ... the censorship board in Singapore will only tell you two words

BAD INFLUENCE

UNLESS

... somewhere in the show you showcase erm... probably erm... how fast the police crack down on them... how professional the officers are... how efficient their counsellors are...

(Name concealed for privacy purposes)
I just received a piece of very bad news from "Producer X" about production in Singapore... but I have promised not to say anything. All I feel now... sighz... *shakes head*

Sorry my dear friend, I don't mean to pour a tank of iced water on you, but we are in Singapore and there are "propoganda" to "abide" by... You may try, but as I see it, with such a theme, it's not going to go down well with the censorship board. Not unless your name is Jack Neo.

What an insult to Hitler.

Everyone in the Events industry know he is downright snobbish. He's famous for that, not the friendly front he put up on screen.

Hehe

I should start a thread called "List of local SG celebs that should be fun watching going to hell." Could even make up imaginary ways for them to suffer before they die like in Saw 3.

Gurmit Singh, Jack Neo, Adrian Pang etc hehe

I graduated from Film,Sound & Video as a Video Specialist. In my course they kept talking about film making. But I wasn't really into making films. I didn't choose film cause Singapore hardly makes films. I chose video because, mainly of the reality of not touching film after graduation and I wanted to do Music Videos. Than I made up my mind to plan to do Music tech in LaSelle after ROD even though they have a video course. Cause my dream is to make Music Videos(that have a storyline and make sense) for my band(other bands too), but first, I want to take a step further to be more muscially inclined even towards production.

Oh dear, don't include Gurmit Singh into the list. He's probably one of the best remaining ones we have already. The rest and the new blood are completely crap.

Being snobbish is one thing, I hate the way the rest of the artistes have to "carry his balls" on national tv and instead of being humble, he's smurking along with it. Goodness...

In Singapore, there is always this saying in the industry. We do not have actors and actresses, we only have artistes. That's how "good" they are. I even know of a local celeb who is a marketing executive for ciggy now... even he got sick of life inside there.
