Any John Lennon diehard fans?

Gibson's been slammed, dunked, peeed, pooed for reproducing these JL-160E s and offering them at ridiculously high prices.

Having said that. Lennon's fans may still buy them..........I'm tempted too :twisted:

hmmm why is everyone saying $15k when the price tag is $4.7k??
personally i wouldnt pay anything more than $500 for an acoustic though

I'm a Lennon fan but the guitars with his name on it demanding high prices are just plain insane. I wonder how much the Epiphone Casino Inspired by Lennon model cost?

Naw, Gibson thinks the name Lennon gives them the right to quintuple prices on guitars.
The Gibson Les Paul Junior is listed at 900, the '57 VOS LP Jr Singlecut is 2.5k. The John Lennon LP Jr Is listed at 5k.

Gibson's business model (or survival) largely depends on past glories, 50's and 60's nostalgia, and famous musicians (preferably dead ones) who used their products once upon a time. And Gibson charges an arm and leg for them. Take all that away and Gibson is left with Dusk Tiger, BFG and Robot guitar.

cos i dont play them as often as my electrics and thus i cant really tell a cheap acoustic from an expensive one, except those which show obviously poor craftsmanship. in the end i'm an all out electric player so yea haha

I'm not a diehard Lennon fan, but I like those guitars because they look and sound unique. If it was not made by Gibson, I'd buy it in a flash when I can afford one. Not hating on Gibsons, but simply put, these are Gibsons and hence I'll never be able to afford it. Even if I could afford one, I couldn't justify the high price.

Epiphone has a version, I think. I would very much like to try one of those...
