Are there any cheap 4 string bass that is good for metal with the neck same colour as the body colour?
For example is the following:

I dont want this one as I dont like its body shape. I prefer normal body shape. If link doesnt work, just google images type in Esp Ltd Viper-104. I probably want a bass with soapbars as I play metal and if pssible I rather it to be passive. Lazy to change batteries.

I'm not a metal player, but I owned an Epiphone Thunderbird Pro 4-string as my 1st bass before I sold it and switched to my current Fender Jazz Bass. The T-bird was active, decent powerful tone and same color throughout, I bought it for $550, from Swee Lee's sale, in my opinion, active basses are more suited for metal, while passives are for just rock

How much is the price of the Epiphone Thunderbird Pro 4 before discount?

It was $960 for the 4-string and about $1100+ for the 5-string, you might want to check with Swee Lee right away, they might be having their year end sale, up to 50% discount, but not sure whether they would have the color you prefer, the one I had was the sunburst you're seeing now, now I wish I still have it.

Sometimes I want to switch between a Jazz growl tone, to an aggressive rock sound, and also in terms of looks, that is if you compare between a Jazz Bass and Thunderbird

u want passive and u want it for metal?

Warwick Taranis, not cheap but its loud growly aggressive and in yer face and its passive. so u need a pre-amp pedal which works as well u can dial in overdrive, etc.. using the pre-amp pedal.

soap bars are ok but the MM style open pieces wired in parallel will kill anything stands.

the other metal bass i dig is the warwick vampyre dark lord, really badass, really big. active everything. kill crush and destroy anything on its path runs standard tuning and low F#0 than can resonate at 33.3hz to destroy the MILF and jailbaits infront of the stage melting in pure orgasm
