Acoustic guitar with overdrive pedal or distortion?

Hi all, wondering what will happen if i link an acoustic to an overdrive or distortion pedal... Will i get the kind of sustain we get on an electric...wondering, yea, just wondering

the truth is, you can connect any effect to acoustic guitar. And that include all sort of overdrive, distortion and fuzz. Its all about experimenting with gear, EQ etc...

The important thing is to keep the gain within limit without causing all the feedback.

But to get a "passable" tone or sustain as usual electric guitar, there are other factors to consider, the EQing, the type of pickup in the acoustic. And most likely, there won't be same result as the effect through an electric guitar.
