I found the stock strings on my guitar too thin to play comfortably with. Are there any good, affordable and 'fat' guitar strings to recommend me? And is it true that different strings have different level of sustain?

I play a LTD Viper-50 and it has a really heavy body. The problem is, when I wear it on a guitar strap, its neck tends to dive downwards and make it uncomfortable to play. What suggestions do you guys have for dealing with this problem? Tks.
