Hi Damien, the A2.1 does allows you to create pretty authentic sounds of great guitar brands out there. I would prefer to consider the A2.1 somewhat as a efx pedal rather then a A.I.

Can i ask you a few qns:

Is the A2.1U an audio interface?? Pardon me for ignorance, this my first time buying A.I.

THere are many recommendations on toneport/fasttrack. How do you rate A2.1U against these 2 products? Am i right to say that the A2.1U is more for "unplug" players, while the fast track etc are for electric players?

To tell you more about myself, I am thinking of venturing into some home recording. I have the garageband and logic, and i am looking for an audio interface to fill the gap.
The pluspoint for the the A2.1U (if i am not wrong) is that I am able to simulate those great acoustic sounds. And if I eventually want to venture into those hair-raising stompbox effects, I can always configure with the logic. Is that right or do i still need to get the toneport or fast track later on?
