Some more made in Korea if I'm not mistaken. Guitars are getting expensive. I am thinkin of switching to banjo and have my banjo plugged to a mesa boogie. Now that would be cost saving!!!

this one is especially dangerous because it sounds so fat & full, yet the pickups are passive (ibanez).

What i think of The Ibanez MTM-2.
AWESOME. Y? b'cos i own one. bought it a few wks ago. put aside where it's from. the back says made in Indonesia, but the workmanship & quality doesnt seem to come from Indonesia. it feels expensive.
Tone wise, not bad, but it'll be extra super if u put EMG in it. ( METAL!!!!)
its in B tuning when 1st bought i, using 54-11 gauges, its very chunky, weightier tones, superb dynamics. even best when i set to standard tuning using 46-10 gauges. Shiok like hell.
i love this guitar

SUB: I can't really see the MTM2's binding. Is it normal white binding or is it some perloid material?

the MTM2 has plain white binding...

just concurring what Grain said: i have utmost respect for this guitar because of its splendid construction & tone. it's a good guitar per se, never mind the Thompson guy's association. despite the absence of EMGs here, all the lethal tones are present.

i observe a hike in appeal, playability & tone (marginal to some) in all the indonesian signature offerings: this MTM/ JEM/ JS/ PGM. these are highly recommended, unlike their previous incarnations (the latter 3 guitars).
