Zildjian A Series Thin Crash 15" - opinions

My friend's offering his to me, I'm thinking of getting it to complement my 16" AAX Dark Crash.
Thinking of either a 18" 2002 Crash or 18" K Custom Dark Crash as well.

Basically a 15", 16", 18".

Anyone has this or experiences with this?

About S$240 new I think...

this crash would most probably give a rather bright sound as its a thin crash and smaller than the usual 16".are u into bright sounding cymbals?is yes,then u can probably give this a shot.try to listen to it live first though

hmmm...which reminds me....im also looking for a 2nd crash,something that sounds bright.

Yeah, I am actually looking for something brighter with fast decay for contrast. Thinking since this is a 15" and a thin, might be similar to a splash effect, but bigger sounding.

yup thats right. the dark has different types, like thin and thin-medium. i prefer the 16" thin as it gives a vibrant sound that isnt too bright. it also has a relatively moderate decay.

a custom 17inch brilliant. when i play it live it has little sustain.. maybe its e rest of drums tt drown it?but i think a customs really bright and sweet

I used to own a 16" avedis thin crash too, but I found that the cymbal can't cut thru the soundmix unless its miced out. (Rock/Top40s)

But seeing how you're planning to get a bigger crash, I'd say go ahead and get the avedis for sound variety. :wink:

Go for the K dark crash! You can't go wrong with a K man... no offence to 2002 lovers, but Ks are orgasmic one way or another!

Hey, thanks for the tip. Yeah, I got the 15", and got a mehmet dark crash instead of the k or 2002... see how it works when it arrives..
