Well , we all know 2007 may be well over but anyways I am eager to find out what are some of your favorite metal albums of 2007

Here's mine :

Odious mortem - Cryptic implosion
Defeated sanity - Psalms of the moribund
Kamelot - Ghost opera
Symphony X - Paradise lost
Nile - Ithyphallic
Ensiferum - Victory songs

Notable mentions :

Behemoth - The apostasy
Megadeth - United abominations
Helloween - Gambling with the devil

Not much of metal listener anymore, but I've enjoyed releases like Type O Negative - Dead Again, Between the Buried and Me - Colors and Behold...the Arctopus. Also I'm not sure if Unsane's Visqueen qualifies as metal, but it's still pretty good.

Amorphis-Slient Water
Mayhem-Ordo Ad Chaos
Angelcorpse- Of Lucifer and Lighting

This three are the best of 2007 to me

Machine Head - The Blackening
Sigh - Hangman's Hymn
Nile - Ithyphallic
Therion - Gothic Kabbalah
Drudkh - Estrangement
Sleepytime Gorilla Museum - In Glorious Times
Exodus - The Atrocity Exhibition... Exhibit A
Megadeth - United Abominations

Dood these bands don't even quality as real metal. They're metalcore!
Agree ...

But I have to say metalcore is subjective , bands like A7X , not metal . Whereas Lamb of God , metal as hell ! In fact , I choose to think Lamb of God is groove metal . Only metalcore thing about them is breakdowns and screaming .

mines was saviour sorrow-mushroomhead

although the cd came out sept 2006
some of their singles were out on 2007

anybody listen to them, DESPITE their rivalry with slipknot

I find Mushroomhead and Slipknot at least heavy enough for the label 'metal', I'd label them as 'experimental'. I don't know why on youtube people are always arguing which band is better. I like 'em both equally, and they're so different.

But they both have this experimental edge that I like, probably more so with Mushroomhead.
