Yamaha PAC112J vs PAC112V

Hi,

I am getting a new guitar and am comtemplating between Yamaha Pacifica PAC112J and 112V. What is the difference between this 2 models?

With all due respect, I think yonmin's suggestion is wack... Yamahas have pretty awesome guitars. Just have to know which one to choose. The Pacificas are amazing. The main difference between the 112V and J is the layout. The electronics on the J are top-routed much like a strat while the V is rear-routed, very much in the style of the older, more higher-end Pacifica models like the 612. Other than that, the 112V sports alnico V pups (I think the J one uses ceramic) and the bridge humbucker has coil-split. Also the saddles are the solid-steel ones versus the bent-steel sheet saddles.

They have great guitars, but for that price, i'd rather buy something else. Unless you're a hardcore Yamaha fan. Budget 500? Get loaded on a secondhand Epi LP.
