oh.. i wanna ask those who owner the keyboard versions...
abt the modular synthesis plug- ins u can buy ...

i wonder if anyone bought the one for vocal harmony.

so what's ur question? i use two plug in boards, the PLG 150 AP and the PLG 100DX. both work fine, but there's a slight lag time..

i'm not sure abt the vocal harmony, not into that...

i c.. im interested to know whether the Vocal harmony plug in is just as good as the PSR 2000,2100 and 3000's vocal harmony functions.

i'm not sure of the exact specifications in comparision to the psr series, but i dare say its much better, simply because its a standalone product dedicated to it! but for more info u can try www.yamahasynth.com

Where did u buy the plug in boards? How much did each costs?

plug in boards available at comboshop at yamaha PS. each board varies between 450 to 600 plus dollars, depending on what it is you're buying. buying multiple boards will increase polyphony of the system. each board is a standalone synthesizer.

well i bought the PLG 150 AP, the acoustic piano board.

in my opinion, the quality is too good for its own good... you need a controller with very very lifelike keys to extra bring out its best, because you tend to forget you're playing a grand piano sound. you have to try to pretend you're playing a piano, half pedaling, holding notes and lifting before the cut off kicks in. the 64 poly phony sucks also, because it tends to run out during long passages when i hold half. sosentinoo (can't speel crap) and the key shift damper works also, but for key shift damper (soft) u've to turn up the volume to notice.

at soft levels (playing gently, finger control), the spacing of each nuance is not so good, but if u play normally or loud, u really hear a grand piano responding. there's a latency time as well depending on ur controller.

without sustain playing jazz or stuccato, u hear a slight tamborine sound. that totally sucks.

all in all, u need to EQ and customize the patch before it can sound good. i spend over 50 hours trying to tweak the settings, becasue teh stock piano sound really sucks. have fun!

That were contradicting statements there lol. Im confused :?

hmmm let's put it this way...

if you get a stock Honda Integra Type R (racers will knoe what i mean), it really sucks. but if u custom it, tune and tweak handling, race bars, suspension heights etc, its damn good..

but if u don't knoe how to do all that, it really sucks, so many ways to make it so much better, but u just don't knoe how :)

does that make sense?
