Anybody using the Yamaha Flying Dragons double pedals?

any opinions on it?

or is it better to just stick with pearl elims?

there are no more stock on flying dragon pedals in sg.. or maybe it just aint called flying dragon anymore haha, those u see at beatbox at plaze sing are not flying dragons lol. and now they have only single chain and double chain drive in stock.\

personally unless u are getting the direct drive one i dun think its recommended to get the single chain or double chain as other brands, pearl, dw tama can do better? i like direct drive though haha

I just bought the last Single Chain drive a month ago :P

Anyways, honestly, I dont see a difference. I just prefer my stuff to be Yamaha or Zildjians :P

Since I never messed with the other pedal before other than stomping on them, I would say the Flying Dragons has this locking system that makes taking the pedal in and out fast. Just that I have yet to be able to tighten it fully on my Carlos Bass drum.

And also, the pedals is kinda like in two parts, pretty hard to explain unless I take the picture and show you, which I'm lazy to :P but it gets irrtating when you have to move the pedal sometimes, cuz mine is currently attached to my DTXplorer.

Other than that, the feel is cool to me. Mainly I prefer it over the ICs is the pedal surface design, the Flying Dragons one are pretty much "flat" so when I'm playing bare-footed, it isn't too irritating to my soles.

Hope I helped. :D

i currently live in hk now and i just tried a pair of flying dragons at tom lee just last week .

maybe it was set-up or the tweaking the dude did , but it felt REALLY smooth for me

almost seamless movement about the pedal man

sweeeeet

I'm using a DFP-9310 and I was a Pearl Elims user....

I find the Yamaha Doubles a lot a lot lighter and smoother. It's a double-chain drive and can be switched to direct belt drive if needed.

Really fast and smooth action as compared to the Pearl Eliminators...

Try getting them if possible, really value-for-money.

I just got my DFP 9415 (direct drive) last month. Very light and smooth action compared to the eliminators and ics. Its easy to dismantle and pack into a bag which comes with it. Carried around with me for my gigs. The pedalboard height and beater angle are also very easy to adjust. Definately recommend other drummers to get it.
The flying dragon on display at plaza singapura is actually the dfp 9410. Its the older model.
