Hey any X japan fans or rather hide fanatic like me ? I just wanna ask something about hides Rig... i knew he uses Ibanez Tube Screamer. Boss Overdrive . Proco Rats. and the rest im not very sure... but this one is in the early period between 1990 - 1994... but for dahlia album its very obvious he changed or added new pedals to his rig... can any gif some advise ? thanks.

well, "if I am not wrong" dun bother too much with the specifics, he uses alot of racks.

what I do is to use my ears, and replicate as best to my ability with my multi-fx.

:p

xjapan!

hi hi hi!! im x-japan's fans! esp. hide. that guy is like God to me. esp. with his guitar skills.. cool eh. what u mean by rigs or racks?

rigs is his equipment setup, from guitar to effects to amps to sound system..etc maybe even his wardrobe and hair..haha

racks are basically mounted sound effects processors. Its generally superior to pedal based effects.

Yoshi and Hide were actually going to form X again after Toshi left the group, but too bad Hide did a Cobain, albeit under heavy alcohol influence...sad, so X is no more.

Wonder what Yoshi is doing nowadays besides producing and helping out in Globe...

I just saw Pata on TV beginning of the month. My sis is 5566 fan so she was watching this variety show by them and at the end of the show she was shouting! "MARCUS X JAPAN X JAPAN!!!"....i went out of the study and saw Pata with his Gibson Goldtop. Not sure what band he is in though.

wee

oh..ok thanks. :D haiyo.. whenever i watch hide's video..i will go crazy. man..he is..so..so..so stylish. his guitar skills can kill. then when i read yoshiki's speech, i will feel the pain. everytime watch hide's video, can't..really can't accept his death. ah! ok. ha.. sorry to say all these here. haha..

Pata and Heath...the unsung heroes...and then there was Taiji..

Actually, they were really really good musicians... although Pata was never really into the visual shock stuff... always his leather vest...cow boy hat... cigarette on stage.... He's got pretty wild skills too. Like many times when Hide is doing his "show man" stuff, alot of the X's super hard licks and riffs are played by him.... He's like a Japanese Slash....

no offense to hard core X fans though, I myself is a fan of X, Yosh, Hide, Pata...etc but sometimes I wondered if Hide n Yosh were gay... haha (although Hide did have a gf...)

hey though i like x japan's songs but i'm not really sure about the story to x japan anybody mind telling the story on y they broke up and stuff ?? Cus i'm still new to jrock

Basically a great band from late 80s, early 90s. Considered the "fathers" of visual rock (followed by bands like Lunacy/Luna Sea...etc)

Broke up due to personal differences and commitment problems between band members, especially Toshi n Yoshiki.

Hide, the guitarist, died due to drunken suicide not long later, ending plans to the "rebirth" of X.

(they were called X-Japan because there was already a band called X in america....where they initially wanted to sell their music)

hi..u can know quite alot by visiting www.x-japan.de
pata is great. saw his guitar skills. another CAN-KILL guitar skills. heh. :D

If i aint wrong, Pata and Heath are now in DopezHead or something like that, did not hear any of their songs though

heath is quite handsome eh? haha.. youngest in X-Japan. 36 this year..hide wud be 40..if he is still alive. anyway, anyone watched "last live"? i cried watching it..i felt pain for yosh..& finally noticed heath's guitar skills. it's good. very good. they're all good. i love x-japan..sooooooooooooo much..

yeah heath and pata in dopeheadz but i think they are not active anymore now. currently pata is in his oen 3 piece band Ra:iN

Heath is good, he can play taiji bassline that is good enough. And if he is not good why he got guts to be xjapan bassist? he is good, but he not as skillfull as taiji. taiji maybe not handsome than heath but definately taiji is more creative and skillfull and charismatic. he loves to run around like michael jacson while playing bass. also he really looks like american thrash metalers.

heath is handsome, nice and style.

I have Yoshiki's Watashi wa Akiramenai (I Won't Give Up 2003). He talks about the breakup in the book. Apparently Toshi just said to Yoshiki one day, I want to leave X (no reason given) and Yoshiki thought for a while and told him OK but he had to decide with the other X members. So he called the rest back for a meeting and hide said something like "Why?? What are you going to do then?"...but they agreed to let him go in the end and hide and Yoshiki made plans to reunite X JAPAN in 2000.

Well he's producing lots of artistes and he's working on his project Violet UK..which he has been working on for 8 years..(nothing out yet though) and there's Eternal Melody 2 which is supposed to be released pretty soon. There's going to be Anniversary (the concerto for the Japanese emperor) and the 20-minute Without You (for hide) piano piece and other stuff..hope he releases it soon.[/quote]
