Greetings Softies,
I am selling my lovely Wampler Plexi-Drive Overdrive Pedal. It is cosmetically very good with no scratches, dings, chips, dirt or damage but there is a slight caveat - there is a intermittent fault with the bypass switching. Allow me to explain:
Once in a blue moon, and I mean blue (because it only happened twice over 1.5 years), the volume level drops slightly when I disengage the pedal (ie, when the Plexi-drive is off), but when I re-engage and disengage the switch again, the volume level is back to normal again. The second time it happened (about 9 months later), I followed the same procedure and voila, it was fine again. I am not one to tamper with my pedals, so I have not attempted to open it etc...but rest assured 99% of the time, it is perfect and does exactly what the box says it does - deliver touch sensitive, warm Marshall “JTM-45®” esque tone!!! For the less initiated, this pedal delivers the historic British stack tone that provided the foundations of rock in the 70's!!!
Fastidiously developed by Brian Wampler (it took him years to develop this particular pedal), the Plexi-Drive features true bypass, three knobs - GAIN, TONE and VOLUME, and a Bass Boost toggle (perfect for beefing up single coils). You want AC/DC, you got it!! A little Judas Priest? Go on, break the law
I love this pedal, but am selling because I have absolutely no space on my board to accommodate it and not because of that intermittent issue that I highlighted above (it rarely bothers me because the fix is a simple on/off toggle switch). However, taking into account that its not perfect because of this, I am letting her go for a very reasonable - S$130.00 . This pedal is near S$300.00 new and like they say, "my loss is your gain". It comes with the original box, bubble wrap and the cloth carry bag.
