Hey guys, looking to sell this hand-assembled Les Paul wiring kit I had shipped in from the US, reason being that I no longer have a Les Paul guitar to drop it into lol. The guy responsible for this piece of art is David Jones from the USA(also known as ToneMojo in the MyLesPaul forums) and is well-known and respected in the forums as a wiring kit supplier.
The one up for sale today is a 50's style wiring kit. To the uninitiated, the main difference between the 50's and the modern wiring style is that it eliminates the need for a treble bleed cap while retaining highs as you roll off the volume knob on your guitar; Great for guitarists who love to manipulate their volume knobs. Your tone knob's effect is also more interactive and organic as compared to the modern wiring style, resulting in an overall warmer tone from your guitar.
Pots used are four 500k CTS 500XL pots. These are top-tier pots with a superior taper and 10% tolerance, meaning that the actual reading for these pots will range from between 450k-550k, much better than the usual 20% tolerance aftermarket pots you find in stores. They also come with solid brass shafts: Sturdy as heck and much more resistant to wear and tear/breakage. Caps used are two 600VDC .022uF PIO(paper-in-oil) capacitors. PIO caps are an important part of the 50's wiring kit, as they are largely responsible for the sweet tones you hear from vintage Les Pauls. These caps are hand-selected from David's personal stash and they simply REEK of mojo.
Now, I maintain that the quality of a wiring kit is only as good as its soldering. And I have to say, David is an absolute pro at this. This kit has the strongest and neatest solder points I have ever seen, definitely on par with the RS Guitarworks guys. Here's a pic for you guys to ogle at:
As I've said, I no longer have my Les Paul with me, so bear in mind that this kit is BRAND NEW, never used it before.
RS sells their equivalent of this kit for USD$110 excluding shipping. This one will go for SGD$100. However if dealt at my convenience ASAP(leaving for overseas work soon), I'll let it go at $90. Interested parties can contact me at 9070 9160. Cheers and thanks for looking!
P.S. This kit came in a sturdy USPS Priority Mail small flat rate box packed with styrofoam nuggets for shock protection, and arrived unmolested and undamaged. So rest assured that there are no structural or integral flaws to the kit.
